I've been fighting this battle for years. If you use a profiling package
that lets you scan a target, rather than using a strip reader, you can
print a sheet of your CD label stock and try creating a profile from it.
The cut lines can drive you crazy, but with enough trial & error you can
eventually get something much closer than the canned Epson profiles. What I
get with my custom profiles aren't perfect results, just better results.
I'm printing to CD Stomper Pro matte stock.
It would cost a lot of money and take a lot of time for the CD label
companies to create profiles for the hundreds or printers out there. Best
solution would be for them to provide us with uncut sheets so we can
profile from those ourselves.
