Actually, it's unlikely this is a USB problem. I use powered USB hubs to get those connections and have exactly the problem you describe with my 22" Formac CRT. At one point someone at basICColor admitted to me it's a bug in the software, but it's been a while and as of last week I haven't seen a fix.

This is what motivated me to start this thread...

I see the manual mentions the requirement of a "high power USB port" for the
DDC cable. Which is hard, since most macs have only 2 usb ports and the
Squid also requires a "high power USB port".
