Hello all - I'd like to hear what others suggest for newspaper quality scans of 8 x 10 film. Initial inquiries have pointed me towards the Microtek 1800f...lots of great software bundled with it and the resoluton seems to meet our requirements for newsprint. Any other scanners I should be looking at in that price range?

Dear Eric

If you really do only want something for a newspaper I suggest an alternative way is to pop the 10x8 trannies on an even light box, and shoot them with a digital camera of sufficient quality. Obviously for the very best quality nothing beats a really good drum scan.

Cheers

Richard
