Support for raw formats like NEF would be great, but there are a lot of
different raw formats. Maybe someday, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
If you're set on using raw file formats you can use software by the
camera's manufacturer or the raw file format plugin for Photoshop.

I would suggest that you check out iView MediaPro 2.0
(<
http://www.iview-multimedia.com/>), which was just recently released
(from v1.5.7). It handles NEFs as well as other RAW formats from major
camera manufacturers.
