Hello --
I'm soon to be tasked with the arguable pleasure of profiling a
fairly large number of different papers on the Epson 2200 with both
Photo and Matte Black inks, as required by the particular surface. I
will be using an Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer and Eye-One Match to
start with and, later, ProfileMaker 5 Photostudio Pro.
I have two questions for anyone familiar with the 2200 and this
software that I would really appreciate the answers to.
1) I notice that the new profiles from Epson have both 2880 dpi and
1440 dpi versions. Does profiling at each dpi make a visible
difference in the output, or is it possible to just profile at 2880
dpi and achieve equivalent results when printing at 1440 dpi with the
2880 dpi profile?
2) I have read that it is usually better to measure more patches,
but that more patches can sometimes be a detriment if the printer is
fairly linear. I assume that the 2200 is fairly non-linear, but does
anyone with 2200-profiling experience know whether the TC9.18 is a
better choice to profile this printer than the i1 RGB 1.5?
Answers to these questions (either positively _or_ negatively) could
save me a lot of time and wasted paper.
Thanks in advance,
-=-Dennis
