Thank you, Jim. I did not mean to start a debate. But I'm always baffled by
the balance between magenta and cyan in printing. When I saw you densities,
I immediately reacted because it seemed contrary to a lot of litterature I
have access to and what experienced tradesmen tell me they run their presses
at on coated stock.
For curiosity, I have just opened a copy of a GATF study conducted a few
years ago in the US, which led to the development of what they called SHoPS.
Average Status-T densities of 71 participating GATF member printers in that
study were:
Cyan 1.34
Magenta 1.41
Yellow 0.98
Black 1.60
I thought the black was a little weak but the other ink densities were in
line with my experience.
