You pay a premium but it does produce the best results with this system
since it's been designed from the ground up to drive the display and
software in what some have called this kind of system a "smart monitor". I
don't think it's in the same league as the Artisan. I prefer the Sony tube
and the Artisan software is just a heck of a lot better (more features,
better GUI). For the price however, it's a good product. But I think the
extra bucks for the Artisan software is money well spent. I had both a LaCie
III and IV and I really don't love the IV tube (purity is not that hot and
I've gone through two).
