what point the color is maxed out? If so what is the procedure?
You can actually find the point at which the L lightness and the a* and b*
channels start to reverse themselves. Where you see a tone reversal or
Chroma shift towards desaturation and or hue that will be the maximum color
tone (density). It's not an exact science though as this is relative to the
colour model of how another inkset behaves such as CMYK in a colour model
Lab which is not linearly uniform.
This was an approach used by many Best Color users before the Premium
version included an iterative method using the max tone method described
above over the classic 20 step density bars in all of the inkset colors.
