Thanks to all who replied on this. While the issue of reproducing
exactly as possible the image of an interior or exterior of a building
can be very complex the photographer in question is very, very good at
capturing this on transparency film (4x5's).
It seems to me the easiest solution for him would be to use an accurate
profile of his scanner and printer. Since the image on the film is
good, it's just a matter of getting that to reproduce on well on a
print, (forgetting for now all the issues of viewing conditions). He
had been advised by someone to use a very complex procedure but it
struck me as just making the job much more difficult than it needs to
be. The responses to my post seemed to verify this so that's what I'll
suggest to him. I'll let you know how it works out.
Thanks!
Dennis Dunbar
