ScanOpen creates as good profiles, in my humble experience, as any of the
other scanner packages out there. But maybe I missed the gist of your
remark?

PrintOpen does include such a feature, verified from the User Guide and
yours truly. I don't any other packages that does it, to date. But I stand
corrected.

The reasons are probably along the lines that Graeme exposed in his earlier
posts on this subject. I still have to follow the iterative path in PO5 to
form my own opinion on this but I would tend to lend credence to Graeme's
views, a priori.
