Absolutely. And wet ink trap characteristics, density, gray
balance.....the list goes on.
Can you FIND what the actual dot gain is in the profile? THAT'S not so
easy unless you know what sort of tone reproduction characteristics the
profile has.
You could probably infer it somehow by comparing CMYK-to-Lab values
from a "known" dot gain profile (22% in SWOPv2 for example) to your
profile. If your target press profile has LESS dot % at the same LAB
value, your target press has relatively MORE dot gain than your
reference profile.
