Pretty nice. I think it has real potential. I'm an ImagePrint user and that
product has a lot more Bells and whistles which can be very useful. In the
past, the B&W wasn't as good because yellow ink was used (unlike ImagePrint)
but the last version I tested made quite good B&W without the yellow.
There's not tint control like ImagePrint. Color and B&W "out of the box"
where nice. I think the price point is a tad high compared to ImagePrint for
that printer (I think it's only $100 less). You can't bring in images and do
any kind of arraignment in fact you can't see the images at all; you simply
load the images into the queue and print. So again, if having templates or
step and repeat is useful to you, ImagePrint has more features. The GUI in
X-Photo is pretty clean. I would try and get a demo of both and see how you
like it. The demo from ColorBurst is fully functional but times out so you
can really get your feet wet. All depends on what you want from these RIPs.
I still think ImagePrint had a slightly better dither.
What's really nice is we have choices now for these kinds of products
running under OSX.
