Robert, are you on OS X? Or some variant of BSD or Linux? Is there
a utility on those platforms for aligning the print heads? So far
I've only seen print head alignment for most inkjet printers
provided by the manufacturer on the two major platforms. I'm
curious if/how this is performed on other platforms or for printers
for which such a utility is not provided by the manufacturer.
I use Linux. There is a command line utility provided in Gimp-Print
to align the heads (escputil); it doesn't work on some of the newest
printers. There's also a GUI called mtink for that purpose.
We could certainly port escputil to OS X, but since it's command line
and a lot of OS X users are averse to the command line we haven't
bothered to package it up. I think it would make more sense to port
mtink to OS X (which is a bit harder, since it uses Motif) for that
purpose.
And yes, I did align my 2200 :-)
