Is anyone using these lamps for proofing?
I bought an Ott-Lite *VisionSaver* last month at a trade show (where you
cannot judge color to save your life). The literature I had specified D50
too but the lamp measures 6500 Kelvin (with a Minolta Colormeter). A
diligent probing of their website indicates that they have two product
lines: one that "shows colors accurately" and another that "lets you see,
mix and match colors accurately." If you find that confusing, then their
FAQs specify:

specially formulated for this purpose.
The *TrueColor* lamps (Product Number: OLPL18TC) will not fit in my unit.
I thought that I was over a barrel but the kind folks in Customer Service
have some "special lamps for daylight" (Model No. T187D0) which are en
route and I will be happy to report how they check out, color
temperature-wise, once they arrive.
Contact me off-line if you want me to share my connections with Ott-Lite.
