I use one when demonstrating the concept of color management when visiting
clients, it actually does pretty well. I too measured a similar value,
actually 5540K (my unit is 3 years old). I use BasICColor Display to
calibrate and profile my 17" PowerBook to a custom white point of 5500K G
2.2. I get surprising results when comparing proof color to display. For the
cost, I have yet to find a better light source. Now my question out there is
who is using the GretagMacbeth Sol-Source Daylight Desk Lamp and is it worth
the price?
