Profiles and Nikon 5700

  • Subject: Profiles and Nikon 5700

I've been doing some testing with a "generic" profile for the Nikon 5700 I
found on the internet, I'm not sure, but I might even have found it on this
list?

The camera appears to attach the sRGB profile to the images saved in all
resolutions including the Nikon raw format NEF.

When I apply the 5700 profile the whole image lightens and there is a
definite colour shift. It also looks the best of the bunch on-screen (in
PhotoShopCS CM on) and when I print (with InDesignCS CM on) to a colour
laser (calibrated) at least it looks similar to the screen (Lacie 22blueIII
calibrated with Lacie BlueEye).

Is there anything I've missed here? Anything more I can try? Can I
effectively (and economically) calibrate the camera? Suggestions please.

Best wishes Peter
