I have not seen any documentation on this, but I
suspect that the latter is correct. I think it always
makes an adjustement, but if the size of the
adjustment is outside of a certain amount, it asks for
a new test to be certain the predicted adjustment was
correct. If it has to do too many cycles, it gives an
error message that there may be other problems which
need correcting.

The settings are contained in a series of text files,
which can be modified. Fuji does not support messing
with this stuff, and you can screw up your system if
you aren't careful. While this particular
bit of information is not posted, there is a lot of
good stuff for a Frontier lab operator at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FujiFrontier/ . Note
that the members of the group have chosen to restrict
access to Frontier operators, so I can't invite you to
join, but feel free to refer your lab.
I also note that you are in Australia. The references
to PIC, Simon, and Labman will probably be unfamiliar
to the folks at your lab. Some of the software used to
run the Frontier is different in the USA from the rest
of the world. PIC is roughly equivalent to
C4/C5(software) and "Image Controller" or "DI" or
"FDIA"(hardware) in the international market.
Best regards,
Randy Wright
