CM and OSX

I also had some trouble with profiling in Panther. I did some tests and found that, as your post suggests, Bruce is correct. If you print out of PS with correct settings and no color adjustment you can ignore color sync. I confirmed this by printing two testcharts, one out of 10.2.6 (before the integrated color sync), and one from Panther, using the same settings (no color management, and ignoring the standard conversion in color sync in Panther). I then measured both charts in Gretag Macbeth's Measure Tool, and using the compare option was able to see that overall they were very similar, having an overall delta E of less than 3. I then created a profile from each testchart. When I printed a test file from each operating system with the respective profiles the resulting prints looked almost identical. Therefore, using the same print settings as we used before Panther will work for profiling.

Regards,
Jodie Mastromatteo
