I tried to play the game called 'a USB cable is a USB cable is a USB cable' using an unshielded USB printer cable of considerable length. Is it a waste of space to specify that the user should rely on the cabling that comes with her instrument? After all there is a standard warning to use a damp and not a dripping cloth on instrument casings. Somewhere a line has to be drawn, so what is crazy and what is sane? "Why does the coffee rack on the front of my Mac not appear when I depress the rack button?" . . . statistically this is a joke to the majority, but there is still a minority to whom it is not.
