The discrepancy between the Digital Swatchbook and the DTP 41 was
unfortunate for proof verification because the paper white simulation
is of course controlled with the spot measuring instrument which
therefore will be inaccurate by a fairly large amount. Both in the icc
abc and on the List the remedies were posted many times.

Dear Henrik
Sorry for the delay in thanking you for your lengthy reply all of which
was interesting if a tad worrying. I appreciate that we are indeed in a
fast moving industry where significant improvements are constantly being
made, so I accept that the Digital Swatch book may well be limited in
it's inherent colour accuracy, but the posting in response by Ray
Cheydleur is interesting.
We bought this instrument to monitor the consistency of the output of a
proofer and for that purpose it has been fine. We also use it to
monitor colour changes over time of contract proofs. Disappointing that
it could have certain colour failings unless I accept the X-rite angle
on this!
Cheers
Richard
