Chris Murphy <email@hidden> writes:

>Case in point, in January 2003 one of the founding members of the ICC pulled out.

Conveying how core concepts enhance the user experience are not a traditional strong point for the International Color Consortium.

And as it's still so darn difficult to do and so darn expensive to buy into, everybody else is turning it into a science of the inner secrets of nature to attact business.

With the advent of the screen as primary delivery platform, the print-based approach of the ICC Specification is in question. And with the advent of digital captures the media-based approach of the ICC Specification is also in question. Add the complexities and costs of device profiles, and it comes time to think about sending an expedition into ICC Land to collect the artifacts and document the customs of the inhabitants before their way of life is forever swept away and they become labour migrants in the towns and cities of the outside world. A thought before coffee, sorry -:).

Thanks,
Henrik
