I see, so comments like "This is the point at which I stopped reading
Chris's post" is an adult response? You should definitely not take my
hyperbole and colorful metaphors as personal insults because that's not
how they are intended. The intent is to express mountains of
frustration of my own, and also customers of mine who can't make heads
or tails out of this stuff, and to attempt at making it amusing because
if we can't laugh at this we are just left with one sad story.
Not bothering to confirm or deny any of the behavior I'm seeing? I had
points that went beyond just that of the "tabbed nature of the browser
window" that involved functionality as well. What of the non-standard
and confusing terminology? What about PDF/X-3 that fails preflight in
the top two applications used for that purpose?
This is a user list, if Apple is unprepared for user-level frustration
being expressed, with the hope of it being alleviated, in this forum
then we're really at a far more sad state of affairs than I thought.
Also, I blame Barney Fife for all kinds of UI problems with OS X. That
this is a ColorSync list causes me to focus on those UI problems, so
while it probably appeared as though I'm picking exclusively on
Colorsync, I'm well aware that the ColorSync team has to work within
limitations mandated by the OS as a whole.
