Is there a known receipe to get decent color out of an Epson 2200 printer
with the Photo black ink on Epson SemiGloss paper? Maybe I am not familiar
enough with Epson line of paper specially formulated for the Ultrachrome
inks but I am getting a hell of a time trying to get good control out of
this paper/ink combination with both TC918 and PO4.052 840 RGB profiles. The
weird thing about TC918 is, I measured with my EyeOnePro in spectral mode
but when I generated the profile in PMP 4.1.5 the "Optical brigthener"
correction did not come on? As though there were no OB in this paper?
Anyhow, I printed the target as RGB with NCA at 1440dpi but the resultant
profile has that infamous green tinge to it, so characteristic of Epson's
inks. Maybe I need to use that gray balancer application?
I can't believe how difficult it is to get decent color out the Epson
ink/driver/media combination when it is a cinch to get good color out of the
Canon ink/driver/media combination: TC918 on an i960 is brilliant -- the
color is just spot on.
Any help is appreciated.
