I have just created three Generic RGB profiles. The first whacked out
red, the second whacked green, and the third whacked blue. Then stuck
one each into the System, Library, and User locations for ColorSync
profiles, logged out then back in. The System version appears to
override the other two.
What can be expected from the interactions of these multiple files?
Yes, we can remove duplicates or assure that they are identical, but
rest assured that that is not the case on many a computer.
"Generic RGB" and "Generic CMYK" profiles are different between OS 9
and OS X, yet the decision was made to keep the name the same. "Generic
RGB v2" and "Generic CMYK v2" seem more appropriate. Too late now
really...
