I went back and measured the chart that I made the kodak profile with and it also produced a posterised image. It also exhibited a delta E of around 20 as compared to the first set of measurements made about 2 months ago! Could be aging of the print but I worry that there is something amiss with my instrument.

Take at least two sets of measurements and use the Measure Tool's compare feature to ensure the delta E's are reasonable. For an inkjet I would expect them to be less than 2 when using an i1 Pro on the media you've mentioned, and the method set to either CMC option.

This leads to a second question.
If PM4.5.1 automatically detects for brighteners and adjusts as required, is there any reason why you would turn this off, or not use spectral data.

If you like the results better with the option unchecked. :)
