Try this out.

Remember when you rename your profiles you can use - or _ to place the name of a file at the beginning of the list. Profiles are listed in alphabetical order except the recommended list that shows up in Photoshop at the very beginning. If you have 5 subdivisions you want to create, use 4 or 5 -'s at the beginning of the file name. This will place the profile groups by order of how many -'s the group has. The more -'s the profile name has the closer to the beginning of the list they will be. You could possibly use a numbering system instead like 01 to 99 or 001 to 999. All your profiles would show up in Photoshop but they would be in a categorized order that you created instead of how Photoshop is ordering your profiles now.
Can you describe what those first characters are please? They got modified to some strange characters in my email.
Also, in ICC v2 profiles (which most people are using today) there are not supposed to be any characters that are outside of the 7-bit ASCII set.
So special characters like the little (tm) character that some companies loves to use in their profile's internal name are actually illegal. Profile generation software should not allow people to use them but they typically do <sigh>

Steve
