If it were not for Roland we would all still be playing with HP's.
I share your feelings.
My first experience with Espon was a stylus color pro II xl.
This was back before anyone knew about s/w rips. Epson advertised the
"postcript option" but never clarified that it was an external rip that
required a computer to run it on.
If I could have got my money back I would have but I couldn't so I lived
with that piece of trash. I turned it into a job ticket printer.
Its crappy ethernet card would drop off the network if it ran out of
paper. The Birmy rip was total unreliable crap. Put it on the shelf.
Epson never made a new driver for that printer, forcing it into the
trash bin and forcing customers to buy a new printer. Then I noticed
their drivers were flaky and created tons of support nighmares.
When it came time to buy a large format printer I gave the dealer one
instruction. NOTHING BY EPSON.
To this day I will not buy anything made by epson.
I've assisted in the installation of 5 Epson 5000's. 3 of the 5 were
DOA. In the early days they didn't even have a wait que on their support
line, you got a busy signal.
I could go on and on but why, I speak with my purchasing dollars.
None will go to epson.
