To me, that all depends on what comes next down the line. If the art
director needs to proof your supplied images on some sort of desktop
printer, regardless of how you save the file (with profile embedded or not,
in CMYK or RGB), that printer better have a profile that Quark can see and
use -- let alone the art director know and understand how to configure
printing from Quark to color manage documents for printing proofs.
If the art directors needs to turn his documents to a service bureau or a
printer, then it all depends on whether that SB or printer is setup or not
to honor the color in that Quark document.
Today, you have no choice: if you're concerned about what happens to your
images downstream you have to immerse yourself in understanding who you're
dealing with, what levels of color management expertise they have, what
printing conditions they assume and so on. It is not a pretty picture. But
if you have to know you gotta ask.
