I use CaptureOne Pro and PhotoshopCS and see no need to do any
profiles, but I'm always willing to learn.
From all that I've read and studied on the subject, I don't believe
you
can profile a digital camera.
Since you are using Capture One with your H25 you are indeed using
camera profiles. If you see no need to build a profile it just could be
because the ones you got with the camera work satisfactorily for you.
Which
of course would mean that camera profiling does indeed work. Perhaps
you
find the H25 profiles a good starting point because they are indeed
generic and not custom to your camera.
I've just done a profile to a PhaseOne H20. After that I shot several
scenes, using both the generic profile, included in CaptureOne Pro and
the custom made profile. The shots were all taken using the same flash
lights that I used to lit my target when I made the profile. Not much
of a difference in scenes with low saturation, but with brighter, more
saturated colors there was a definitive improvement with the custom
profile.
I'm well aware of the difficulties involved in creating a camera
profile. And if you are expecting 100 % color fidelity after that you
have made a profile, then you are not going to be satisfied. But with a
well made profile, especially if you are shooting under similar
lighting conditions as when you made your profile, my experience is
that it will get you closer to an image with the colors you expect to
see. Sometimes the differences isn't that big compared to what you got
from the start, sometimes it is. When correct color is important, a
good profile saves me a lot of correction time.
Another thing about making your own profile is that it is very easy to
tweak it to get the colors you like, instead of the colors that the
manufacturer had decided is correct. In just a few minutes I can create
several different profiles with different color balance, saturation or
contrast. For many photographers the important issue is not about
correct colors, it's more a question about pleasing colors

P.S I used ColorEyes 20/20 to create the profile
