I'm experimenting with using Apple Remote Desktop to access my drum scanner on an older Mac running OS9. The scanner software, Trident, is not compatible with OSX or Classic but my main computer that I work on is OSX so I'm looking for ways to access the scanner remotely over a network.

My question is what monitor profile is my OSX machine, the administrator, using when it takes over control of the remotely connected OS9 computer? It displays the entire desktop of the remotely connected Mac.

Is the monitor profile of the OS9 machine being displayed on my OSX machine without conversion or is the OSX computer possibly converting the data from the OS9 display profile to my OSX display profile? Or is it simply ignoring the OS9 profile and displaying everything with my OSX display profile?
I'm not certain about Apple Remote Desktop but I suspect it's the same as Timbuktu and just sends the raw RGB screen data from the OS9 machine out to your monitor.
So in non color managed apps there would be no profiles applied. If you have the ability to set a display profile in the Trident software you would want to set the profile for the OS X machine (build it on the OS X machine, then move it over to the OS 9 machine).

Steve
