Smart CMM, dumb profile. Determine the source gamut from the source
profile, the destination gamut from the destination profile, construct
a suitable gamut mapping for your intended usage (intent), which will
naturally include luminance range mapping, link source to destination
via the gamut mapping. i.e. I see this as a superset of BPC.
Since the demise of the Imation CMM there is there such a CMM?
As I said, I've never seen the need for BPC because if I'm after
quality, I'll do the linking properly.
How? Using what software? Using what smart CMM?
