Surprisingly, I find 85 Cd/m2 quite confortable for prolonged hours of
pleasant work in front of my monitor. And the current level of ambient
lighting is not that dim considering there is 106 Lux of illumination
falling on the face of my LCD.
Perhaps I need to move on to a different kind of work environment, maybe a
brighter room, but I don't find displeasing. I have some clients setup with
ACD at around 145 Cd/m2 and they don't work in a very environment either.
Have you ever came across litterature on the relationship between various
combinations of ambient lighting levels and monitor calibration?
