1.8/2.2 sRGB or Adobe?

  • Subject: 1.8/2.2 sRGB or Adobe?

Though I understand these differences of 1.8 and 2.2 this is still rather confusing.
I have recently purchased the G5 and 21" Apple monitor. According to John Zimmerer, that was the best of the three Apple monitors to purchase for color calibration.
1. i've made a profile w/both the Eye One and the ColorVision devices.
2. I use 2.2 gamma and D50 and work w/Adobe RGB
3. In printing to the epson 7600 w/UC inks (matte black) I achieve extremely consistent and excellent results.
4. The Gimp Print software is 100% removed and I work from the Epson driver

Okay, now I am reading what John and Bruce and Chris are writing . . but, somehow methinks I've got something not quite straight in my logic about all this. I think I comprehened it all but perhaps am not fully understanding.

To make things work the best, I dismissed the Apple logic per Bruce/Chris info in their book and in hearing Bruce talk to local groups.

Though I am achieving superb results . . am I NOT seeing this argument clearly?

Thanks from all of you for any answers.

Jack Fulton
