That would be assuming that there is Color Management going on which is not
the case. I imagine that GIMP has ink limiting per media and resolution but
this is not color management per se , merely optimising the way ink is
handled on that particular media.

Actually no. If anything you could assign generic rgb and see if that would
resemble the print. In any case there isn't color management going on so it
would only be to assemble a group of assumptions. They may indeed come out
with something approximate and thus usable for your needs yet in no way
accurate statistically.

Exactly, and or use Colorsync Utility to create a corrected Colorsync
Filter.

Yes , print a test chart and create a profile. Use that as the convert to in
ACE or use the Colorsync Utility to create a filter.
