That would be assuming that there is Color Management going on
which is not the case. I imagine that GIMP has ink limiting per
media and resolution but this is not color management per se ,
merely optimising the way ink is handled on that particular media.
It has ink limiting per media and resolution, and linearization
(approximated by means of gamma correction). In addition, in 5.0
there is correction in HSL space (for paper and ink) to improve the
output.
BTW, we're considering renaming Gimp-Print to something else to
eliminate confusion with The GIMP, which is a different open source
project (an image editor). Gimp-Print was originally derived from the
printing facility for that program, but for about 5 years it has been
a separate project with fewer ties to the GIMP.
