Hallo to all,
I'm using a german version of OS X, so I hope that my translation is ok.
And sorry for my worse english ;-)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------
System Setup:
1. Profiling the printer (I've done it with a lot of epson, hp and
canon stuff):
Printing target form Photoshop without colormanagement.
Measure the target with you device and software.
Create your ICC.
Copy ICC to your ColorSync Profile folder.
2. Open "ColorSync Utility" in "Applications -> Utlities".
Open the tab "Devices".
Expand "Printers".
Select the printer you've profiled and apply your ICC.
3. Open the tab "Filter".
Create a new filter.
4. Select "Color" in "Filter-Details".
Select "All Objects"
Select the rendering you like
Set the first transformation to "none" (sorry - I don't know the
translation).
Set "Convert Color Data" to the ICC you've applied to your printer.
5. Select "Preferences" in "Filter-Details".
The settings here are only for pictures without enbeded ICC.
I do the settings like my prefered onece in Photoshop.
For example:
Gray: In Photoshop saved Gray-ICC form my CMYK-ICC
RGB: ECI-RGB
CMYK: ISOcoatedsb
6. The rest of the settings can stay unchanced.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------
Printing:
1. Open iPhoto
2. Select the pictures you want to print.
3. Open the printing dialog.
4. Make your basic setup.
5. Select "Advanced Options".
6. Select ColorSync.
7. Set "Color Convertion" to "Default".
8. Set "Quartz-Filter" to te filter you've just created.
9. If you use an epson select Colormanagement
and set it to "No Color Adjustments".
10. Set the printer preferences as you did for profiling your device.
11. You can save this setting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------
Now you should be able to get the same results like printing from
Photoshop.
I hope that it works in your workflow as well.
Greatings from Germany,
Clemens Beisch
