Thanks Henrik for such detail. Actually I did read the IQueue manual but
did not think anyone else was using it. My quest on rendering intents was
about the Reference Profile Space (PRESS) to Proofer space (9600). IQueue
lets you assign a rendering intent to the source profiles and the
simulating printer. If I were to recreate this on the Xerox, I wanted to
know how to factor that in, if in fact, you would need to.

n order to use a device link to advantage, you should make sure that all
objects you place in the InDesign or QuarkXPress page are harmonized. For
instance, all CMYK objects must be converted into a _single_ CMYK Working
Space.<
Yes, this is so I run a Queue for this purpose first. But what I don't
understand is why IQueue has Device Links for CMYK (Lab and Raster), RGB
(Lab and Raster), and Grayscale, it you are supposed to Normalize the file
into one colorspace.
If would appear that their intended flow is;
sRGB-to-Proofer=RGB DeviceLink Profile
USSheetfedCoated2-to-Proofer=CMYK Device Link Profile
Grayscale 1.0.icc-to-Proofer=Grayscale Device Link Profile
Lab 1 to 1.icc-to-Proofer=Lab Device link Profile.
Thus, these device links replace your source profiles for these
colorspaces. So, you can still Queue up and mixed space PDF.
If this is so then you only need to standard on these (whatever your choice
for building the DLP's) source spaces in your layout program, e.g.,
Indesign. All RGB will be sRGB; all CMYK will be USSheetfed.....
