Black text created in a Photoshop RGB document separates as as any other RGB
color. Black text created in a Photoshop CMYK document separates on the
black plate only (it's dropped off but that's easy to fix). Black text
created in an Illustrator RGB document separates as any other RGB color.
Black text created in an Illustrator CMYK mode document separates on the
black plate only. Where does this expectation that black RGB text should
only come out on the black plate comes from? In some PS3 RIPs, like
Harlequin Navigator v6, yes, there's an option to convert RGB black to true
black. Perhaps this features also exists in other InRIP products, I don't
know.
