Have you tried printing to PDF from iVew in RGB and color managing the

That might work... but it opens up a whole other set of problems. Acrobat 6 goes nuts with custom page sizes... something I must have to print to roll paper on an Epson 9600. I just recently went round and round with this trying to "print" a slide show from FileMaker to PDF via Acrobat 6. I've done this same project for years with earlier versions of the software and it works like a charm. Not any more. Acrobat 6 can't handle a custom landscape formatted page. I had to load System 9 and the only other copy of Acrobat I had... v4.0 to get the job to output correctly. My initial attempt with iView Media Pro printing to a custom 10x8 page (on 10 inch roll paper) yields the same odd formating results in Acrobat. I haven't gotten to color issues yet. The files are formatted just fine going straight from iView to the printer. This is an Acrobat issue. I'll continue to experiment.

As for printing in any other application than strictly Photoshop in Panther,
I can say that I am getting the exact output from InDesign and Illustrator.

I don't use either of those apps but assume they have output controls similar to other Adobe apps like Photoshop and Acrobat where you can specify an output profile within the applications. I'm sure that works fine. Its the myriad of other good apps out there that don't have specific output controls within the application that I'm concerned with... which is most applications. It shouldn't be this complicated to get predictable color managed output from those applications. All the files are properly tagged and devices carefully profiled. I just can't figure out how to get the OS to hand the file to the printer with a predictable conversion in between.

Thanks

Bob Smith
