Hi group.
Don't know if this fits in the parameters of the group, but someone
else may have had this happen to them already, and knows the workaround
or answer.
I am having a heck of a time with Mac OX 10.2.8, and Epson 9600 with
matte black ink, firewire roll paper as the printer.
It just now ran out of ink and instead of simply stopping, which it had
done before, when running out of an ink color, it stopped and then cut
the Fuji Hunt 310 gram Smooth Fine Art Paper. Yep. That's right.
It cut the paper.
The roll paper choice is set for no cut. The square box for cutting
is not checked. As I mention below, Epson says the software overrides
the hardware.
In the printer presets I have Smooth Fine Art paper chosen, which also
is supposed to prevent cutting.
Epson support says the software overrides the actual printer panel
settings and I am supposed to have the setting set to Roll Auto Cut.
How can this be prevented in the future?
And, in OS 10.2.8, what settings do I need in the software, or in the
actual printer, to make the 9600 behave the way it is advertised to
behave? That is, when a color runs out, the printer merely stops and
I put in another fresh cartridge.
I Thank you in advance for your comments.
Cheers
