Get thee behind me, satan!
(just a bit of humor there...)
Well Roger, I may just be 1 step behind you on the PC route. Too bad
I already registered ColorshopX to my Mac, I see now that it's a hybrid
install disc. hmm, so is this profilemaker software...
Thanks for the advice, Robin, I'm in OS9 now and profilemaker/ measure
tool etc. see both my instruments, but the spectroscan is still
reluctant to obey. Getting somewhere, though, at least either
instrument can be used to take manual readings.

oddly enough, I had taken the precaution of turning my modem off of
"internal" before this, but now I have it set back to "internal modem,
apple 56K" and the keyspan is working. Digital swatchbook will
connect to either port on the Keyspan. Spectroscan prefers to be on
Keyspan's port "2", ID'd as p#2usa28x01 in the control panel.
it's hit and miss on the other port.
I can't believe I have to use Os 9 to do this *sigh*
Again, thanks for the help, this is 100% farther ahead than I was
yesterday! I will contact you (Robin) regarding SpectraShop 2.

Randy,
I feel your pain. I hate to say this but am I ever glad I have a PC
laptop
with a genuine RS-232 port for all my color measurements. I get none
of that
hadware / serial port emulation torture. ColorShop X recognize
flawlessy my
DigitalSwatchBook, DTP41 and DTP92. Rain or shine.
I use my Mac for other mundane tasks but not for making profiles and
color
analysis. I cost me to buy this IBM laptop but now I have peace of
mind.
