ProfileMaker,
This issue in not unique to ProfileMaker. I've seen at least three other
packages build the same "greenish-yellow" in more than one shop with
different makes and models of spectrophotometers.
Pantone folks will be the first to explain that one can not always trust the
math (and resulting Lab values to make the colors) from which such
transforms are made. Better color matches are achieved via some human
interpretation and intervention and that takes time which demands money.
Peter Figen's solution of editing profiles is fitting and probably the best
quick-fix of the problem for the time being. Unfortunately, he has to take
the time (and therefore money) to make it work as well as we expect it
should out-of-the-box.
If the greenish-yellow is common to so many different packages and imaging
devices, maybe the problem is really in the original formula.
It's interesting that I've seen the issue with "all things RGB imaging" from
photo paper, Pictrography, and even LVT. Peter says he sees it with CMYK and
inkjet also. Andrew says he doesn't notice the problem.
Maybe it would be in order to share something via mail such as Pictro output
and actually compare a problem sample with Andrew's Pictro.
