Proofing light recommended CRI ?

  • Subject: Proofing light recommended CRI ?

I don't have the actual lights in front of me to compare, only the specs.
But one is a 5000k CRI-91 tube and the other is a 5500k CRI-95 tube. Seeing
that they both offer a high CRI and a colour very close to natural
daylight, I wonder if there would be a big difference between them?

Obviously 'real daylight' would be ideal. But are there recommended specs
for proofing lights that set a target range such as "5000-5500k and CRI of
90 or higher"?

Reason I ask is that some lamps cost a LOT more for only a slightly higher
CRI. Would this make a difference in real world practice?

Thanks for any insight.
