Hi to All,
I think, the way how to implement CTP to an existing Process is every time
different from costumer to costumer.
At this moment I work on an implementation of CTP, Opaltone and a new 8
color press inside the packaging production. My aim is to print old designs
to the new press with 7 Colors (CMYKRGB). After analysing the current
situation I found, that there is no standard implemented yet. The Dotgain
various between 0% and 30% from Design to Design. I can't use a correction
curve inside the platesetter RIP. Also they mix the colors different from
Design to Design and this is the reason why I can't use an ICC Profile for
the CMYK part.
You see, there is no base to start from and I have to design my own one.
If you have the same situation it is not a bad idea to start with one of the
national or with the international standards to setup the press and proofer.
For proofing you can directly use the official ICC-Profiles and for the
press you have defined printing conditions.
Best regards
Ulf Grossmann

I agree. This also gives him or her the opportunity to use that profile
