Hi Ray,
To be exact...Bill used Dainippon Screen's software RIP with SPEKTA hybrid
AM/FM screening.
Similar to Agfa Sublima, I guess. More and more printers are using this kind
of screening method these days.
Toyo TK Hy-Unity Soy inks.
Soy based inks. Environmental friendly inks. Nice. Only 25% of US printers
are using soy based inks in 2004. What a shame.
The densities shown in one picture show:
C = 2.03
M = 1.85
Y = 1.56
K = 2.24
They do not state the status of the filters.
Right. As I noted in my post, the PDF does not say which status these values
were obtained under. But I'd be surprised if they were StatusT (more like
measured through a polarized filter, which is common practice in Europe, I'm
not sure about Asia). That's why I don't see how can the author directly
compared them to SWOP's? (SWOP does not publish standard densities, btw).
I think that Staccato 10 micron screening could do an even better job for this
type of printing.
Is that a Creo screening system?
Under a loupe the screen of the hybrid screen is very
visible.
You have a physical book in your hand to look with a loupe?
With Staccato 10 you can hardly see the screen under a loupe.
I'll take your workd for it.
Ray
