That is one usable standard. It happens to be one I've been having success
with for a long time, other's experience vary.

I suspect it has to do with what you wrote below, that you used to work in
your LaCIE's native 9300 White point. Then, yes, in comparison, 5000K
appears shockingly yellowish.

Because of your accustoming to native 9300K which is painfully blue for my
taste.

If this new 30" ACD native white point is anything the new 23" native white
point, which measures 7500K in my tests, native is too blue. I'd use 5000K.

I wonder where you were viewing your prints? Under what lighting?

Probably because of te increased luminance. At 150 to 200 Cd/m2 luminance, I
think our brain does not fathom yellow but the sensation of white.

Not surprising.

Of course. Very different rendering system. Not the same dynamic range.

I would not set the brightness set to maximum on the ACD. But that is me.

You'd do well search the recent archives for ColorSync users group I the UK.

It's like I said. The EyeOne is an excellent device. I use it all the time
along with a collection of Spyder2Pro and MonacoOptix XR94 to calibrate and
profile monitors.

Yeah. Forget yor LaCIE. Your alternative is to decrease the brightness on
your ACD to bring it close to your LaCIE. But you should not do that. Use
the extra brightness on your ACD, some of the guru on this List will say.
