Thanks Andrew. Alas I do not own a Spectrolino. As a test I did try the
same polarizing filters with 2 other cameras, Nikon D1X and Canon
Digital Rebel. These seemed to work fine. Had to dump the embedded
profile and assign the new custom one. They do seem to work though. I
was thinking that there might be an issue with the Imacon itself.
(filter in front of CCD?)
Anyone out there with reference data for a ColorChecker 24 measured
with a Spectrolino and polarizing filter? I know this is not ideal but
it might lead me in the right direction.

It's important to measure the target to produce the reference file
WITH a
Polarizing filter over the Spectrophotometer. That pretty much means
using a
Spectrolino.
