Marc,
Thanks for the clarification. I was a little suspect
when I went the the X-Rite site and saw the upgrade to Profiler Platinum listed
at $10,200. The X-Rite store does list the upgrade to Profiler Gold 4.7 at
$1400 and I wrongly assumed it was for us 4.5 users. I didn’t see
anything about a $250 upgrade but that is a very fair price indeed. I’ll
call on Monday to order.

2) Licensing. The current
license (which has been active for the past year) allows consultants to build
profiles for 3rd party non-licensed users (excluding profile distribution or
other types a manufacturer-related profiling applications that might fall under
an OEM technology licensing agreements). In other words, if you are a
consultant, X-Rite supports the use of our technologies to enhance the services
you provide to your customers.>
What legally qualifies you
as a consultant? I’m not trying to be obnoxious, it’s an honest question,
many people label themselves as consultants in some field.
