Chris (et al),
In case this wasn't clear from Mike's posting, let me clarify both the
upgrade and licensing issues you have raised.
1) Upgrades. From version 4.5 to version 4.6, the upgrade cost is $250. This
includes a green replacement dongle for purple dongle users. Users already
owning a green dongle can be upgraded with no additional hardware.
The 4.6 to 4.7 upgrade is free through the end of the year ($250 value)
using the promotional code on the website:
http://www.xrite.com/promotion.aspx
2) Licensing. The current license (which has been active for the past year)
allows consultants to build profiles for 3rd party non-licensed users
(excluding profile distribution or other types a manufacturer-related
profiling applications that might fall under an OEM technology licensing
agreements). In other words, if you are a consultant, X-Rite supports the
use of our technologies to enhance the services you provide to your
customers.
The MonacoPROFILER 4.7 workflow continues to be based on Lab D50 - which can
be collected directly using the MonacoPROFILER wizard. For users of Gretag's
MeasureTool, you can export lab (D50 or other) from spectral data and import
it directly into MonacoPROFILER.
Hope this helps,
Marc
