Usually happens when there are old paths to a back up or second volume with the same name as the start up disc. Not always easy to resolve as the cache often points to the back up. In the case of Adobe products usually just dumping the user preferences does it as the Color Settings paths are rebuild to the correct volume> user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color
